AFCON 2017: Asamoah Gyan Wants Revenge over Egypt in Tonight’s Game.

Captain of the Ghana Black Stars – Asamoah Gyan says the team is eager to avenge the defeat of the 2010 finals at the Africa Cup of Nations to Egypt.

Ghana lost to Egypt 1-0 in the final in Angola. The two countries will face each other tonight in the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

What Time Is The Ghana Vs Egypt Game?

Ghana is set to play Egypt today in the AFrican Cup of Nations at 1900 GMT (7:00 pm) 25th of January, 2017.

Ghana are already through to the quarter finals after victories over Uganda and Mali. But the talismanic forward insists the stars will leave no stone unturned against their rivals.

“I remember that time, the Egyptian had a group of generation that was dominating the Cup of Nations, I do remember. Now they don’t have any of them, except the goalkeeper,” as he reminisced on the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.

“I think for our current team, those who participated in 2010, we still have about 50% of them here. They are now matured and more experienced.” He added.

Asamoah Gyan allayed fears of the past saying the one thing the stars need is a revenge their old foes.

“I think they (Egypt) have a good team now, good players as well but you can’t depend on history. As we always say we are coming for revenge. They beat as in the qualifiers. We want to come for revenge. We want to make our country happy.”

Meanwhile, it is expected Coach Avram Grant will drop most of his first team players as they have already made it through including Asamoah Gyan.

Ghana will play Egypt in the final group D of the African Cup of Nations game at the Stade de Port Gentil. (The Egyptians you see today, you will see them no more.)
